Ingrid Cockhren, M.Ed. is a trauma and human development expert, consultant, and author whose work centers on collective, generational, and historical trauma. With nearly two decades of experience across education, mental health, child welfare, and nonprofit leadership, she helps organizations and leaders understand how trauma is not only experienced individually but also transmitted across families, communities, and systems over time. Her approach integrates research from developmental psychology, public health, and epigenetics with socio-ecological frameworks to examine how historical harm becomes embedded in institutions, relationships, and everyday environments.

Ingrid is the founder of Cockhren Consulting and a co-author of "Reducing Stress in Schools: Restoring Connection & Community" (Harvard Education Press). Her upcoming book, "Healing Generational Harm", advances a multidisciplinary framework for understanding and addressing trauma across generations and systems. Through her consulting, writing, and speaking, she challenges the field to move beyond individual-level intervention toward systemic praxis—reimagining how schools, workplaces, and communities can become sites of regulation, connection, and collective healing.
