EILEEN ISOLA (“IH-suh-luh”…like “Italy”) is the Lead Editor for Necessary Turbulence: Fifty Years, One Unbreakable Sisterhood Forged in the Crucible of the Air Force Academy. A former US Air Force commander and decorated combat pilot who now flies internationally, she was the first woman to serve as an Advance Agent to the President of the United States, flew high performance jets, trained combat pilots, invaded other countries, airlifted humanitarian relief, resupplied Amazon jungle radar sites, commanded an Air Force squadron, and crumbled barriers for women who wanted to serve their country. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, she has spoken at universities, professional women’s aviation events, and to business and civic organizations, and has been featured on the front page of the New York Times. When not at 40,000 feet in her front row seat to the Universe, she makes her home in Virginia.
