Katherine Stewart is an investigative journalist and author who writes about religious freedom and the rise of religious nationalism for The New York Times, the Atlantic, and many others. Her latest book, The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism (Bloomsbury). won First Place for Excellence in Nonfiction Books from the Religion News Association, and has been selected as this year's Fall Read by the Union Theological Seminary. Stewart's previous book, The Good News Club, was an investigative look at efforts, by the religious right, to undermine public education.
