Amira Barger is a multi-award-winning executive, author, and scholar-practitioner who provides senior counsel at the intersection of diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI), health equity, and strategic communications. With over 20 years of experience, she helps organizations build humanity-centered workplaces and tackle society’s most pressing public issues. Amira is also a forthcoming author with Berrett-Koehler Publishers — her book The Price of Nice: Why Comfort Keeps Us Stuck—And 4 Actions for Real Change will be released in October 2025. She is a columnist for MSNBC, Fast Company, and Nonprofit Quarterly, and serves on nonprofit boards advancing racial equity, health, and social justice.
