Commentator, Community Organizer, Podcaster, Oglethorpe University's 1st East Asian Student Body President

Ashleigh Ewald, of Marietta, Georgia, is a Political Science student at Oglethorpe University, where she currently serves as the Student Body President, representing and championing students' interests. Ashleigh is the 1st person of East Asian heritage to be elected SGA President in the school's history.

Ashleigh is a National Youth Advisor and a Paid Freelance Writer at YR Media (formerly Youth Radio), providing ideas and insights that will strengthen Teach YR Programming and co-create programming. She also serves as the State Director, Georgia Chapter of Voters, coordinating and guiding the Voters of Tomorrow Georgia's chapter to implement initiatives such as hosting voter registration drives on college campuses across the state and supporting members on the board to keep fighting for Gen Z values. She has been published in various outlets, such as Thought Catalog, Collective World, Atlanta Magazine, YR Media, The Daily Free Press, Teen Ink, The Nation, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reflecting on her experiences as an orphan, and being an adopted, resilient, proud American.

Ashleigh has campaigned for, and formed bonds with, candidates seeking office since she was 14 years old. She continues to use her voice and skills to change her community and beyond positively by hosting her podcast, 100% Real with Ashleigh Ewald Talk Show.

Nikola Ilic

CEO and Professor

Nikola is an activist, leadership development professional, social entrepreneur, and professor of leadership. He has been an activist since the age of 15 when he joined the Serbian anti-dictatorship movement Otpor. In 2009 he co-founded the community organizing NGO Serbia on the Move and has participated in many grass-roots campaigns: anti-corruption, health justice, civil rights, and democratization. Today he is involved in the work of the largest Serbian grass-roots NGO Kreni-Promeni (Board member), and he is co-leading the Leadership Development program of the pan-European movement Volt Europa.

Nikola is also a founder of ChangeLab Global (named top 10 emerging change management organizations in the US), aiming to make leadership development accessible to millions, regardless of their socio-economic status. Besides various private sector, government, NGO and multinational partners (Obama Foundation, UNICEF, US Gov – Presidential Management Fellows, CitiesRise movement), Nikola is part of World Liberty Congress and many other organizations worldwide to support their fight for liberty and democracy.

He has taught leadership and community organizing in various capacities with Harvard Prof. Marshall Ganz since 2010. Julie Farnam

Julie Farnam served as the Assistant—and then Acting—Director of Intelligence for the United States Capitol Police during one of the most tumultuous periods in this country’s history. During her time there, she oversaw the identification and vetting of nearly 20,000 threats against members of Congress, most of which were made by U.S. citizens who adhered to extremist ideologies. She also warned of the potential for violence on January 6, 2021. Prior to joining the Capitol Police, Farnam served with the Department of Homeland Security for over fifteen years. She holds a master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University and is also the author of the book, U.S. Immigration Laws Under the Threat of Terrorism. Farnam lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her two daughters.
